As 2020 comes to a close we wanted to share our work on behalf of the Northeast US seafood industry and its impact on the sector.
Food Export–Northeast is a non-profit organization that promotes the export of food and agricultural products from the Northeast region of the United States. We’ve been helping exporters of Northeast food and agricultural products for more than 50 years. Since 2004, we’ve been a significant leader in promoting the Northeast US seafood sector overseas, playing an instrumental role in facilitating trade between suppliers and worldwide buyers. As we come close to the end of 2020, we wanted to share our work on behalf of the Northeast US seafood industry and its impact on the sector. Take a look.
Through extensive programs and activities, Food Export–Northeast raises awareness and demand for Northeast US seafood products as trusted, high-quality, and sustainably harvested. Some of these activities include:
Between 2004 and 2019, Food Export–Northeast invested $21 million in both generic and branded promotional support to elevate different seafood products in markets across the world. That investment has resulted in $3.45 billion in sales generated by the Northeast US seafood industry, a return on investment of $164 in sales for every $1 invested by Food Export–Northeast.

About Food Export USA – Northeast
With its extensive programs and educational offerings, Food Export USA–Northeast (Food Export–Northeast) is recognized as the preeminent expert and cost-effective resource for Northeast seafood and agricultural suppliers looking to sell their products overseas. Founded in 1973, Food Export–Northeast is a non-profit organization that works collaboratively with its 10 member states’ agricultural promotion agencies from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, to facilitate trade between suppliers and worldwide importers and to promote the export of food, agricultural and seafood products from those states. Since its founding, the organization has helped Northeast seafood suppliers gain access to a broad range of export markets, supported overseas in-market educational and promotional programs and offers emerging suppliers access to funds to help grow their export business. The organization is funded through the Market Access Program (MAP), administered by the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
