Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast’s mission has always been to help U.S. companies increase their export sales. One of the main ways we do that is by attending and hosting events around the globe. In this monthly blog we highlight everywhere we went and everything we did during June 2024!
Value-Added Feed Ingredients Buyers Mission at World Pork Expo
Des Moines, IA
June 5-6
Food Export hosted the Value-Added Feed Ingredients at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa. This year, buyers from Bulgaria, China, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Vietnam traveled to Iowa to meet with 11 U.S. suppliers. This year we also had a special guest joining us: our In-Market Representative, Jens Hombeck.
The World Pork Expo is the largest pork industry-specific trade show and brings together pork producers and industry professionals from around the world for three days of education, innovation and networking. In addition to one-on-one meetings and attendance to the Expo, the participating international buyers had the opportunity to tour a feed mill.
Dairy, Deli, and Bakery Buyers Mission at IDDBA
Houston, TX
June 9-10
This year we hosted the annual Dairy, Deli, and Bakery Buyers Mission in partnership with the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) at the 2022 IDDBA Show in Houston, TX. The annual IDDBA show is the largest show in the dairy, deli, bakery industry and attracts more than 10,000 registrants and about 800 exhibiting companies. This Buyers Mission brought in 16 U.S. suppliers and buyers from Canada, China, Colombia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea.
Caribbean and Latin American Buyers Mission for Retail and Food Service Products
Miami, FL

Our annual Caribbean & Latin American Buyers Mission in partnership with the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) took place amidst storms and floods in Miami! The event brought buyers from all over the Caribbean and Latin American region to meet with 20+ U.S. suppliers.
Food Show PLUS! at Seoul Food & Hotel
Seoul, South Korea
June 11 – 14
Food Export traveled to Seoul to facilitate the Food Show PLUS! services offered at the 2024 Seoul Food & Hotel show. This year, the show hosted over 1,600 exhibitors and over 50,000 visitors. At such large shows, our Food Show PLUS! services are key for our participants, giving them access to interpreters, one-on-one meetings, post-show lead qualifications, and market briefings. This year 7 U.S suppliers traveled to South Korea and benefitted from Food Show PLUS!
South Korea is the fifth-largest export market for U.S. food and farm products and Seoul Food & Hotel 2024 is the biggest food show in the country. This event provided access to major food importers, distributors, hoteliers, restaurateurs, and retailers.
Specialty Food Buyers Mission at the Summer Fancy Food Show

To close out June, we headed to New York City for one of our most popular missions: the Specialty Food Buyers Mission in partnership with the Specialty Food Association. This Buyers Mission takes place alongside the Summer Fancy Food Show, allowing suppliers and buyers to make the most out of their time at the mission. This year we had 39 suppliers and 15 buyers from around the world.
