In 2023, Niramaya Foods participated in Food Export-Northeast’s Branded Program to exhibit at Natural Products Expo West, a trade show in Anaheim, California, which attracts many international buyers. As a participant in the Branded Program, Niramaya Foods was reimbursed half the cost of shipping samples to the show, the booth, and rented booth furniture. These marketing efforts helped the New York-based supplier actualize $100,000 in sales and establish 10 new distributorships.
On their experience in the program, Mehek Khera, Founder & CEO of Niramaya Foods, said, “Food Export really gave us a head start to present at par with the biggest food brands on Expo West’s show floor.”
Niramaya Foods makes dips in popular Indian flavors. These include Sweet Potato Bhaji, Super Greens Saag, and Tandoori Masala. Inspired by the recipes passed down from founder Mehek Khera’s Dadi (Grandmother), these dips are full of real food and natural flavor. Consumers can use the dips as a spread on bread, a quick snack, or even a sauce for meals.
The New York supplier has participated in Food Export’s Market Access Program funded Branded Program for the first time in 2023.
Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
