Since 2004, Gary, Minnesota-based J & J Corp. dba Soyko International, Circle C Seeds has participated in Food Export-Midwest’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to grow their exports. J & J Corp. produces identity-preserved, non-GMO, organic, and conventional grains in the food ingredients market, particularly tofu. Their products are highly sought after in South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. The Minnesota Supplier has established strong customer relationships in these markets and continues to build new ones thanks to the continued support of the Branded Program.
Last year, J & J Corp. participated in the Branded Program to defer the costs of exhibiting at the FoodEx Japan trade show. They chose to exhibit at this show in Japan because their main product is soybeans, one of Japan’s most important crops and the most essential ingredient in Japanese food. Their goal in attending the show was to meet many potential buyers/customers and secure connections with different distributors from Japan and surrounding countries and regions.
This February, J & J Corp. reported earning $175,000 through their show attendance with Branded Program funds and project to complete $5,000,000 over the next twelve months with their 3 new buyer contacts established during the event. Jade In, President of J & J Corp. dba Soyko International, Circle C Seeds, also shared, “The customer service from Food Export is always great; they help us with all our processes.”
