Last year, Lobster Trap Co. from Bourne, Massachusetts, participated in two of Food Export-Northeast’s seafood supplier events to grow its international brand and gain export sales. In April of 2023, the company participated in Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services at the Seafood Trade Show at the 2023 Expo Global in Barcelona, Spain. The seafood supplier also participated in Food Show PLUS!™ services at the China Fisheries Show in Qingdao, China in October.
The custom services helped Lobster Trap meet new foreign buyer contacts while providing them with onsite show services to enhance the experience. The company’s efforts and services helped it gain $3,100,000 in sales from both shows, with projected sales of $6,000,000 over the next twelve months with its newly acquired four international buyer contacts.
Since its founding in 1972, the Lobster Trap has been a pioneer in the seafood industry. The Massachusetts company ensures its customers and clients receive only the highest quality seafood, “from bait to plate.” The company strives to provide the best lobster and seafood available at an affordable price while using sustainable fishing practices and supporting local fishermen.
Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
