In March 2024, Godshall’s Quality Meats, located in Souderton, Pennsylvania, attended Food Export-Northeast’s Food Show PLUS! at the Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria trade show in Guadalajara, Mexico. Through this activity, the company formed 2 new Mexican distributor relationships and made its first-ever sale to the market. The Pennsylvania supplier projects to complete $1.5 million more in sales over the next twelve months.
Godshall’s Quality Meats produces premium wood-smoked meats, such as turkey and beef bacon and sausages. Founded in 1945 as a home-based business, it is now an Employee-Owned Company with multiple plants and its own Innovation Center.
JR Rivera, Godshall’s Quality Meats VP of Sales, said, “Having the support of Food Export’s In-Market Representatives in Mexico was very helpful for our successful participation in this show – from pre-show planning to our onsite experience.”
Godshall’s Quality Meats has participated in Food Export programs since 2015, participating in Buyers Missions, Trade Missions, and many of Food Export’s export educational activities, such as webinars.
Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
