Marder Trawling Makes Great Sales in Boston

by Food Export | Dec 14, 2017
Marder Trawling, a seafood company with over 65 years of experience from New Bedford, Massachusetts, provides exceptional seafood products out of New England. The company works very closely with Food Export Northeast and in addition to participating in our Seafood Buyers Mission each year, Marder Trawling also participates in Food Export’s Online Product Catalog.

In March of 2017, the Massachusetts company attended Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Seafood Buyers Mission at the Seafood Expo North America in Boston.  At the event, after their pre-arranged one-on-one meetings, Marder Trawling was able to secure new sales to South Korea for over $200,000 for Skate Wings, Dogfish and Monkfish.

Marder Trawling prides themselves on providing the freshest seafood taken right off the boats. Their products are cut, processed and packed in house in Massachusetts for the most efficient service. Paired with their Total Seafood Packing subsidiary they are able to cater to private-label, retail, wholesalers and foodservice companies.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
