by Food Export | Jan 14, 2019
In 2018, Evanger’s Dog & Cat Food, located in Markham, Illinois in the 2nd Congressional District, utilized the Food Export – Midwest’s Branded Program to create and distribute giveaway items and advertise in magazines aimed at the Salvadorian market.

As a result of these marketing efforts, Evanger’s connected with a new foreign buyer contact, made $67,500 in export sales to El Salvador, and projects another $100,000 in export sales to El Salvador.

Evanger’s Dog and Cat Food Co, Inc has been around since 1935, utilizing Food Export programs since 2003.  They remain a family owned and operated company that produces additive and preservative free dog and cat food.  They were the first to create a pet food that was hand packed and contained whole pieces of meat and vegetables; they also produce a Kosher line, living up to their slogan of producing “People food for pets”.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
