Branded Program Helps New Jersey Supplier Increase Exports While Attending International Tradeshow

Working with Food Export USA – Northeast since 2011 has helped New Jersey based The Two Little Guys Company dba Joe Tea grow their exports to many new markets. Most recently in 2018 Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program helped Joe Tea gain exports to the United Kingdom after attending SIAL Paris in October.

Attending the show by utilizing their allocated Branded Program funds helped the supplier gain over 40 new buyer contacts and earn over $50,000 in new export sales while also projecting to gain $150,000 more in sales over the next twelve months.

Joe Tea, located in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, in the 11th Congressional District, has participated in Food Export’s Market Access Program funded Branded Program since 2012 and has achieved great results utilizing the 50% reimbursement program. Over the years the New Jersey Supplier has used their approved funding to assist with the expenses of exhibiting at international food tradeshows and to market their products overseas.

Joe Tea sells flavored teas, lemonade, and kettle cooked potato chips.  Peach, Lemon, Raspberry, and Ginseng, are just some of the flavored teas that they sell. Their chip flavors include:  Sea Salt and Vinegar, Sweet Potato, Jalapeno, Barbeque, Salt and Pepper, and Sour Cream and Onion.  All of Joe Tea’s kettle cooked potato chips use all natural ingredients.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
